A Father’s Blessing
Genesis 49 – One of the most sacred family events in ancient Middle Eastern cultures was the passing of the blessing from one generation to the next. As the last of the great Jewish patriarchs, Jacob’s blessing marked the transition from family to nation. Jacob gathered his sons around his deathbed and spoke meaningful words to each.
