My Mom is a wonderful lady and fantastic mother. However, since my son was born, she’s always telling me how to do things. I know she means well, but it’s getting on my nerves.
Q:
Dr. Tim: I have a brother who has been abusing drugs and alcohol for many years now. How do I get him to move closer to me so I can be there for him on a daily basis? He insists on living by himself miles away from any family. I feel like if he moves closer I will be better able to assist in saving his life. He is a great person on the inside and just needs to get connected with good people and a new beginning. Thank you, Ashlee
Q:
Dr. Tim: We are a family of four believers who want to do what is right. I have a 13 year old who is currently under counseling for panic/anxiety. Her grades have slipped a lot despite telling us she has no homework. She is displaying a deliberate avoidance of homework which is impacting her grades. How do we as parents, encourage her to set limits. As her parents, my husband and I are so frustrated. We are trying to help and yet she is willfully letting her grades slip.
Q:
My husband of 19yrs had an affair that led to child being born. We have two children together ages 12 and 16. They hate the woman he had the affair with and would rather not ever see this child who is now 9 months old. We are still trying to settle divorce because I cannot live with his daily contact. My kids are in Christian counseling and so am I, but my husband is in denial that the kids have a problem because they will not tell him how they feel. I cannot find any books with a similar story to help me with my kids. I’m 40 yrs old and starting all over in a town that hates my husband and his mistress. According to courts I cannot move and the kids will eventually run into this person. But they want revenge.
Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated,

I don’t have a question, just wanted to send kudos your way. I’ve been a member of AACC for a few years now and have just attended an Intensive Training in Jacksonville, FL (CISM & EFT).
Fabulous! Wonderful! Marvelous! I’ve attended many such trainings in the secular realm of psychology and counseling, but the program you folks delivered put the others to shame. I’m a chaplain and MFT and constantly in need of resources to provide a better practice and presence. I applaud the AACC for its top-notch training.
Alas, I’m hooked. I hope you continue to provide more and more. I live at the coast in NC. Bring’em my way.
Thanks, again.
Q:
There is an article on your website entitled, “The Sin of Being Offended”. I have read it numerous times because of a difficult situation we are having with another family member. All parties involved are Christians and we have met with them to discuss the situation yet nothing has really been resolved. I am still hurt by their actions. Mainly because they have shown no remorse or apology. How do I stop being offended? Obviously the person suffering in this situation is me, but I cannot figure out how to move on.
Q:
Where can I get the information from the show today on bipolar behavior? I have a nephew who has been diagnosed and would like to be able to encourage he and his mom. Is there reading material I could purchase?
Q:
I’m looking for the Soul Care Bible. Is it still in print or did a new one replace it? Readmore
Q:
Dr. Tim, All I want is for my husband to spend time with me. Yet when he knows something isn’t right he’ll just give me gifts and tell me he loves me. How can I get him to understand that I don’t need presents…all I want is for him to be with me?”
